Women pursuing careers have historically been made to feel overlooked or have their achievements minimized. Academy of Art University’s fashion school associate director begs to disagree.

When it comes to advocating for gender equality in art and design industries, women should make themselves heard. In fact, anyone who is in the fashion industry should be their own advocate, but especially so for women in art and design.

“If you’re a woman, don’t feel shy to say what you’ve achieved—write it down. And just ask for what you want. The worst thing you can have is a no.”
