Year after year, the work of dozens of Academy of Art alumni is showcased in an array of award-nominated films across the world.

This year’s Oscar nominations are no exception, where their work can be seen in 16 nominated films across five award categories.

Those categories include: Best Animated Feature, Best Picture, Best Animated Short Film, Best Production Design and Best Visual Effects in standout films including Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Beauty and the Beast, The Boss Baby, War for the Planet of the Apes and Coco.

In 2017, The work of Academy Art University alumni was showcased in 20 nominated films across 16 award categories, including Animated Feature Film, Animated Short Film, Cinematography, Film Editing, Sound Editing, Visual Effects and more. Our former students played a role in many of 2016’s standout films including Doctor Strange, The Jungle Book, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Hacksaw Ridge and Moana.

The 90th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will honor the best films of 2017 and will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California at 5:00 p.m. PST on March 4, 2018.
