Academy Alumna Works on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Congratulations to Academy of Art University graduate Lindsay Elgin for her work on Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!
Lindsay graduated in Spring 2016 with a degree in Production Management from the School of Animation & Visual Effects. Upon graduation, Lindsay secured a job as a Production Assistant at motion picture visual effects company Industrial Light & Magic.
During her time at the Academy, Lindsay was part of the School of Animation & Visual Effects StudioX program, where advanced students gain industry experience working on real client projects.
“I love that being a part of the production track in Studio X, I get to work with students who are the top of the top in their respective field,” she said in an interview with the department.
“Working with the directors has been a wonderful experience because I’ve had the opportunity to work with clients, professional clients, […] and I’ve also had the opportunity to work with graduate students.”
Founded in 1975 by George Lucas himself, Industrial Light & Magic is one of the leading effects companies in the world with multiple blockbuster hits on its list of accomplishments, including Jurassic Park, Star Trek, and The Avengers.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first standalone film set within the Star Wars saga and tells the story of unlikely heroes who work together to steal the plans to the Death Star. The film is out today in theaters everywhere in the U.S.
