Demonstration Kitchen in Spain
Spanish Interior designer, Alex Alvarez, from Blanco Azabache Studio, has completed the design of a new demonstration kitchen in the old town of Sant Cugat del Vallès in Spain, which is just a few hours away from Barcelona.
The project goal was to redesign a room on the top floor of a house that used to be a coffee shop, with an attic that was not being used and had never been opened to the public.
The client requested a space to be used as a gastronomical demonstration classroom, show-cooking room, and for bar tending classes. For this reason, they decided to focus the space around the island, where up to 10 people can gather, as well as a cooking coach, guest chef or bartender. Because the island is the center of attention, Alvarez decided to give it more personality by using a diagonal tile pattern, using a beveled tile in lemon yellow to contrast with the existing natural materials found in the space.
