IAD Student Winner!

The School of Interior Architecture and Design would like to congratulate IAD student Priska Marianne,. It was announced yesterday that she won the 222 Powell Street Bar/Lounge competition.  In addition to having the Architect/Owner incorporate part of her design into the actual lounge, she also received a $500 cash prize.
Here is a brief description from her design with the before and after images of the project.
“Located in the heart of the city of San Francisco, the building 222 Powell Street serves both tourists and locals to take pleasure while staying in downtown. The inspiration for the new lounge in this building comes from the cable railways that are in front of it. By using elements from the tracks for cable cars, the design for this lounge will carry the heritage of San Francisco cable car, providing channels to introduce, entertain, and sustain what San Francisco has.”
Priska is originally from Indonesia and is going into her senior year in fall 2012.
“While I’m open to any specific interior design areas, my goal is to meet the needs of appropriate interior spaces for continuing life experiences.” Priska Marianne
