The work of one of our 2007 IAD graduate Heather Hilliard, was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal in a tour of decorator showhouses. Calling Hilliard’s library in the San Francisco showcase “a haven marked by natural serenity,” Journal writer Charlotte Moss praised Hilliard’s “generous but approachable” style.
The article highlights the designs of four of Moss’ favorite rooms from decorator showhouses nationwide. The author remarks on the beauty and functionality of various upholstered pieces that Hilliard (MFA07, School of Interior Architecture & Design) custom-designed for the showcase room, and on the boiled wool felt rug with blanket-stitching and leather binding that Hilliard created.
