2011 Northern California Chapter’s IIDA Leaders Breakfast Sep 21, 2011
Annie Leonard will be the featured guest speaker at this year’s Northern California Chapter’s IIDA Leaders Breakfast. Leonard is known for her online film, The Story of Stuff, which is an animated short about how individuals are not aware of their amount of consumption and the cost of it. Garbage activist, director, and writer, Leonard’s new book that was based on her film (with the same title), The Story of Stuff, was released on March 9th, 2010 receiving wonderful reviews. She has witnessed the world’s impact on both over- and under-consumption from 40 countries around the world. Leonard will showcase how people’s obsession with material objects is negatively affecting our communities and our health. She has committed almost two decades of fighting for environmental health and justice issues and still continues fighting today.
The breakfast will be held on September 21st, Wednesday, at 7:30-10:00am in the Four Seasons Hotel (757 Market Street, San Francisco, CA).
