Design and Build a Garden!

The San Francisco Flower and Garden Show is an annual event that showcases designers, artists, and students with a passion for creating beautiful landscapes. The show is a one week event that is open to the public and runs during the last week of March. The show is visited by hundreds of thousands of spectators who enjoy the gardens and vote on their favorites.

After the Landscape Architecture Department’s very own Emanuel Gonzales’ great design resulted in a  gold medal prize  against Arizona State University and UC Berkeley this year, the event coordinators have asked the Academy of Art University to participate once again at the March 2013 Show!

Each year the show has a central theme which all of the designers use as inspiration. Next year’s show will showcase gardens of the world under the theme title of “Gardens Make the World go Round”. The Landscape Architecture Department has decided to represent China for 2013’s show.

Here is where it gets interesting for YOU! The design that will be showcased at the 2013 show COULD BE YOURS! Join us on November 9th from 1:00-3:00 pm @ 601 Brannan in the LAN presentation space  to get more information on how the design and implementation process for this fun and exciting process will work!
