Victories for same-sex marriage. Supreme Court Strikes Down DOMA.
DOMA stands for: Defense of Marriage Act, that would not allowed marriage between couples of same sex, but today on the last day of the Supreme Court term, the justices ruled 5–4 that the federal Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 is unconstitutional, “DOMA is unconstitutional as a deprivation of the equal liberty of persons that is protected by the Fifth Amendment,”wrote Justice Kennedy
