Futuristic Take on Traditional Norwegian Stave Church

We love the simplified look of the Knarvik community church by Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter, the main design inspiration came from an abstraction of the typical Norwegian stave church from the Middle Ages, taking certain characteristics of the architecture in a more modern and sleek way and very similar to the traditional design, Knarvik church is built in layers and culminates at a tall spindly spire whilst the clean lines and lofty uplifting interiors evoke grandeur and a higher state of being.
Even though the overall design is very geometric/angular we think it fits in perfect harmony with its environment.
