LARE Overview with Ray Freeman

Ray Freeman of Freeman & Jewell Landscape Architecture in Berkeley will present  an overview of the Landscape Architects Registration Examination at UCB Extension onWednesday, September 18th from 7:00 pm until roughly 9:00 pm. Ray has taught very intensive LARE reviews across the US since the spring of 2000, and currently teaches two of his three LARE review classes every 4 months in Northern California. Ray’s next regular classes will cover sections 1&2 and section 4 in October. Over 1600 students from 46 states, 5 Canadian Provinces, DC and Puerto Rico have attended his LARE workshops.

The presentation will focus on an overview of the exam from the perspective of the candidate preparing for the exam. Topics will include:
  • Recommended study areas
  • Information categories
  • CLARB and State licensing concerns and how they “color” the exam
  • Question formats with a number of examples
  • The new AIT (Advanced Item Type) questions and their various permutations
  • The computer interface
  • Self care preparation
  • Test taking tips
  • A brief listing of Subject Concentration Areas for each section of the LARE
  • Exam preparation resources
  • Question and answer session

PARKING: Hearst Garage parking is $5 for four hours of parking, with validation (at the front desk on the 2nd floor). Hearst Garage is accessed from Stevenson Alley. This is the last alley before Market Street.  Do not go into the Jessie Street alley as that is the wrong garage.
