For today’s Monday Morning Photo(s) we want to show you the Dover Street Market, a multilevel fashion retail store concept by Rei Kawakubo of Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons. The original is located in Dover Street, in London by the year 2006 they opened a smaller version of the London store in Ginza, Tokyo and last month Kawakubo unveiled Dover Street Market New York on 30th & Lexington St.in Manhattan.
There are seven small floors, stacked on top of one another like a treehouse, each floor can be access by a clear glass elevator that slowly moves through the center of the store.


“I want to create a kind of market where various creators from various fields gather together and encounter each other in an ongoing atmosphere of beautiful chaos,” says the COMME des GARÇONS founder.
