Move over Pixar, The Simpsons are nominated for an Oscar!

If you have been living in the United States within the past 25 years, you are probably well aware of The Simpsons. Even though the show has been running for so many years, the youngest Simpson, Maggie, continues to be the adorable pacifier sucking baby. This past summer, Maggie Simpson starred in her own 3D animated short film, The Longest Daycare. The short was shown before the screenings of Ice Age: Continental Drift. Executive producer of The Simpsons, James L. Brooks, thought about creating a short film and screening it before a feature film in the theaters, similar to how Pixar makes their own shorts and show them before their films. This 4.5 minutes short with no dialogue shows Maggie being dropped off at the Ayn Rand School for Tots by Marge. Maggie encounters her arch-nemesis, the uni-brow Baby Gerald, as he tries to squash a butterfly she is trying to save. Watch the short below. Do you think the Simpsons will win an Academy Award?
