You can on Park(ing) Day! Park(ing) Day is an annual event that brings citizens together to transform metered parking spots into temporary public areas called, “park(ing) spaces.” Rebar, a San Francisco design studio, was the first to make over a metered parking spot into a public park. Below is the image of the first Park(ing) Space in 2005.
