Urban Farming (December 9, 2011)

The Studio for the Urban Projects is hosting a panel moderated by New York Times writer, Allison Arieff, to discuss strategies for urban farming. They will take a look back at examples from the past and examine the Victory Garden movement of World War II. The panelists will include Amy Franceschini, instigator of the new San Francisco Victory Gardens Project; Novella Carpenter, author of Farm City; and Paula Jones, Director of Food Systems San Francisco Department of Public Health. Towards the end, the panelists will conclude with modern strategies to both revitalize the Victory gardens and create new models of urban farming.
