Dreyfuss & Blackford Architects and HOK, in association with AIA, IIDA & IFMA present:
Sustainability BY THE PEOPLE: A Forum on Post-Occupancy Education: How occupant education programs can benefit operations, efficiency and the bottom line.
Building performance and sustainability hinge on occupant understanding and engagement. While post-occupancy evaluation helps the architect and owner understand the success of the building from the occupant’s perspective, is the occupant using the building as the design intended?
Can an educated occupant interact with their built environment more effectively if they understand the intent of the design?
Post-occupancy education is about informing the occupants of buildings about the features and functions of the design intent of the spaces they occupy. Sharing information about the performance of the building expands awareness and guides building owners and users as they operate in their spaces.
Join industry leaders to consider the benefits of occupant education programs. A moderated discussion with audience participation will introduce real-world case-study data from recently completed projects and will cover the issues from the different perspectives, including architecture, ownership, management and research.
