Ahhh! Boom! Crescendos!
Sometimes a very powerful aspect can be easily over looked or in this case, overheard. After being in Mark Berger‘s “Sound” class back at Cal, he broke sound for films into three major categories: dialogue, music, and sound effects (such as foley). One of our final projects included the students creating a scene only using sound. No pictures and scenes were allowed.
With the power of sound editing, it can completely change the mood of your entire scene. Sync that with the proper scenes and you can create parody videos like the one below where they change the tone of Disney’s The Lion King. Do you think these parodies have changed the cute and friendly tones these movies had?
