Today, The Art Career Project, a nationally recognized resource for art students and art professionals, announced two major ranking lists for 2018. The first was a list of the top U.S. art schools with online programs. The second was a list of U.S. colleges and universities with the best animation programs.

The best part? The Academy was ranked #3 on the list of schools offering online degrees in art. Additionally, The Academy’s  School of Animation and Visual Effects was ranked #13 out of the highest-scoring 31 accredited colleges and universities for animators.

The Ranking System

The ranking methodology includes an analysis of 283 post-secondary institutions in the United States offering programs in animation and combines information from student data, published surveys, and other data collected from government agencies including the National Center for Education Statistics and the Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System.

To qualify for The Art Career Project’s rankings, a school program must be certified in good standing with their regional accrediting body. Schools are scored based on multiple metrics including tuition cost, graduation rate, transfer out rate, and other factors. All eligible schools are scored and compared to create the complete list.
