Thank You: Welcoming Asian American and Pacific Islander Month
The month of May ushers in Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, which honors the traditions and histories of the AAPI community, as well as their contributions to society.
In recognition of the legacies of AAPI artists and designers, Academy of Art University would like to thank the AAPI faculty, students, and alumni who help our art school thrive.
The predecessor of AAPI Heritage Month, Asian-Pacific Heritage Week, was first proposed in 1977. While the period of observance increased from a week to a month in 1990, the government officially made AAPI Heritage Month a yearly nationwide event in 1992.
So once again, thank you to all of our AAPI faculty, students, and alumni! Your boundless inventiveness and imagination have left a lasting impact on our art school and the surrounding community.
