Event: NXT UP Fest 2019 Awards Ceremony

The San Francisco International Film Festival isn’t the only important film fest in the city this time of year.

There’s also Academy of Art University‘s very own NXT UP Fest, which showcases the best of student work from Motion Pictures & Television, Acting, and Writing for Film, Television, & Visual Media.

The event on May 3rd will be an awards ceremony, but short clips of the nominees will be shown. If you want to watch the full student films, they’re also available online!

While the awards ceremony itself starts at 7 PM, there will be a reception for nominees and industry guests beforehand as well.

About NXT UP Fest

2019 marks the third year of the festival, and we can’t wait to see how they’re going to make this iteration bigger and better.

On its first year, judging was made by the students’ peers. However, for 2018, the festival sought the professional judgment of industry players with impressive resumes: Chris Moore (Manchester by the Sea, Good Will Hunting); Howard Rosenman (Call Me By Your Name); Liz Glotzer (The Shawshank Redemption, The Good Fight); and Barbara Fisher (Hallmark Channel).
