Academy of Art Spring Show 2019

Spring Show Industry Day Brings the Bigwigs to School of Game Development Booth

One of the main reasons why students work so hard to get into the Spring Show is the opportunity to meet potential employers.

The Industry Day allows students to showcase their work to the people that they should actually aim to please and impress the most—their potential employers. After all, the main thrust of Academy of Art University is to equip the students with the skills so they can build a strong enough portfolio.

Many students, in fact, have been offered internship and apprenticeships, or even launched their careers in Spring Show. Kevin Reyes (BFA Industrial Design, 2015) for example, earned an internship with New Balance after his sneaker project turned heads during Industry Day. Today, he works as a Footwear Designer for Nike.
