Here at Academy of Art University, we would like to thank all of our African-American faculty, staff, students, and alumni for their contributions!

Every February, people around the nation celebrate the achievements and struggles that our African-American community strived for our country. Their accomplishments across all industries including art and design were featured in Google’s “The Most Searched: A Celebration of Black History Makers” ad. 

The first Black History month began in 1915 and has since been recognized annually. This year also marks the 150th anniversary of the fifteenth amendment, granting the right to vote to Black men since 1870. In the many years that followed, countless African-American changemakers worked hard to better and inspire our nation.

Academy of Art University is proud to honor the African-American communities for using their hard-earned efforts in creating a more equal society. Thank you once again for all that you do for our city, state, and country.
