Thank You: LGBTQ+ Pride Month
From Academy of Art University to our LGBTQ+ community, we are grateful for your contributions and achievements in the art and design world.
The beginning of June marks the 50th anniversary of LGBTQ+ Pride Month, commemorating the Stonewall Uprising that happened near the end of the month in 1969. The first LGBTQ+ pride march subsequently happened during the one year anniversary of the riots in New York on June 28, 1970.
Fast forward to today, pride month serves to recognize the impact the LGBTQ+ community has on our society in the past, present, and future. Many people also come together to celebrate the freedom of sexuality and gender identity expression around the world.
Academy of Art University would like to thank our LGBTQ+ community for their contributions and sacrifices in the art and design world. Thank you for bettering our community through love.
