RSVP: Art School Float in 2019 Chinese New Year City Parade

New to the city and looking for something fun to do this weekend? Or perhaps you think you’ve seen it all, but still would like to see some more? Fret not, because there’s a big parade happening downtown this weekend. Don’t miss out–our art school certainly isn’t!

Do It For the Bacon*

Southwest Airline’s Chinese New Year Parade is happening on Saturday, February 23. If you want to be there for the kick-off, then make sure to be at the corner of Second and Market Streets at 5:15PM. The parade’s route includes Chinatown (but of course), and then will end at Jackson and Kearny Streets.

If you can’t make it in person, you can still catch the parade by tuning in to its televised live broadcast on KTVU Fox 2 and KTSF 26 from 6 to 8PM.

*We can confirm that there is no bacon giveaway happening.

A City Constant

Did we mention that Academy of Art is going to have a shiny, piggy float joining the parade? In fact, we’ve been a pretty constant presence in this particular city event, even winning an award or two for our creative floats. Aren’t you in the least bit curious how this year’s is going to look like? We’ve only seen some behind-the-scenes progress pics for it, but we’re confident that it’s going to be awesome, as per usual.

Pics or it didn’t happen!

Post pictures or make IG stories about the parade. Just don’t forget to tag us (academy_of_art), especially for our float! Let’s get some Art U pride going out there in the streets tomorrow!
