The Many Facets of Art Education

Build Career Skills in Art & Design

Are you constantly doodling, sketching, planning, coding, sculpting, designing?  Can your passion be quenched?  Can your desire be satisfied? Do you need to build career skills in art & design to bring your vision to life?

What’s the last thing you think about when you go to sleep at the end of a long day?  Is it also the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning?  Is it your art?  Design? Your craft?  Your passion?

What do you do when you have no choice but to execute your vision and make it real?  Do you let it consume you?  Has it already? Is it because you need to build career skills in art & design?

What skills do you need to succeed?

Do you have the skills you need to get the creativity out of your head and into the world? Is it even practical to try?  What can you do when you’re being tortured by the unquenchable fire in you to be an artist when it comes up against the reality of life, the need to earn a living? Is there a way to do both?

How can you build career skills in art and design?

Do you have the foundational knowledge that defines art and design — the art and design you love?  How can understanding the history of the artists that came before you help you succeed?  Why did the creators of the first computer ray-tracers study renaissance paintings?  Do you know why the first digital audio pioneers spend so much time in old churches studying acoustics?  Why do digital photographers and cinematographers learn to shoot film? Why do artists look forward and backward at the same time?

Does the old really drive the new?

What’s getting in the way of your craft?  Do you have to cover an extra shift at work?  Are you behind at your job because you’re spending too much time dreaming about design, art, music, games, theatre, scripts, photography?  How can you be both an artist and earn a living?  Do you not have the skills to pay your bills and find creative fulfillment at the same time?

Is there a way to do both?

Do you think you’re the only creative in the world that’s had to make the “love” or “money” decision?  What can you do when you’re being tortured by the unquenchable fire in you to be an artist when it comes up against the reality of life?  How can you find fulfillment in an artistic field with real-world skills and at the same time drive your own creative vision forward?  What do you need to make it in today’s gig economy? How can you build career skills in art & design?

Do you know that’s what we teach at Academy of Art University?
