Academy of Art University would like to honor all women’s contributions to the art and design community, nation, and beyond in celebration of Women’s History Month!

March not only marks International Women’s Day but also National Women’s History Month! Before Congress declared the official celebration, the movement gained much public interest with its biggest celebration in Santa Rosa, California in 1978. Every March, we formally thank all of the women who came before us who fought for equal rights and opportunities.

According to the National Women’s History Alliance, the theme of this year is “Valiant Women of the Vote”. The purpose is to highlight women who worked hard to provide basic rights for women and others. Thanks to their contributions, women around the nation today can have the same rights as anyone else in the country.

Academy of Art University is proud to honor the female leaders who raise the next generation of artists and designers. Additionally, we celebrate the female students and alumni who strive to make the art and design world a better and fairer place. Thank you for your work!
