Alumni Behind the Scenes: January – Talking Pets, Houses of Horror

It may be the awards season for entertainment arts, but our recognition for our Academy of Art alumni go beyond the red carpets of these prestigious ceremonies.

We recognize the work of those who contributed to these January productions.

Dolittle stars everyone’s beloved Avenger, Robert Downey, Jr. Trading in his Ironman suit for a lab coat, he takes on the role of a physician who discovers that he’s more than just a dog whisperer; he can talk to any and all sorts of animals.

To pull this off, VFX skills and technology would definitely come in handy, which is why we congratulate Azra Alkan for his contribution.

Meanwhile, The Turning is a horror/mystery film featuring a house seemingly cursed by a vengeful ghost. Anyone who dares enter is doomed to a violent death. Gruesome and horrific is best achieved in film, which is where Leo Bovell helped in.

Dolittle opened on January 17, while The Turning started screening on January 24.

Again, a big congratulations to our art school alumni! We look forward to having more Academy of Art University graduates produce great things out in the real world!
