On Exhibit: Sutter Galleries in October

At Academy of Art University, you don’t have to wait for too long to experience putting up your own exhibit in an art gallery. These two Academy artists prove exactly that.

Throughout the month of October, your fellow art students Mijin Kwon and Renee Rogoff will be putting up their works on display at the Academy’s Sutter galleries. Come out and lend support to your peers as they take this very courageous step to pursuing their dreams in art.

Mijin Kwon was born and raised in South Korea. She went to San Francisco to study Fine Arts, Painting, and Drawing in 2014, and earned her degree in 2019.

The most impressive subject matter for me is Bay Area / San Francisco’s urban landscape. The reason is I live in now since 2014 and the place gives me good memory with place’s vibe and a view that harmonizes buildings with nature. Compare to the city, my hometown doesn’t have much traveler and the similar exterior buildings are usually located. So, the winding streets (uphill and downhill road) of this city, and the buildings of low and varied appearance, are one factor that inspires me.
