Academy Weekly: Walking (Socially Distant) on Summer Sunshine
The summer semester is upon us and it’s going to be nothing like any other we’ve ever had at Academy of Art University. Campus remains closed but you can rest assured that tomorrow, it’s absolutely game on—online. We hope you’re ready!
But before that, let’s take a quick look back at the week past on our blog.
Our first student org-contributed blog post was published last week, thanks to Academy of Art’s very own LGBTQ+ club, Outloud! In this piece, they highlight artists, advocacies, and organizations that lend voices and support to members of the LGBTQ+ community across the Bay Area.
Our very own Creative Mind podcast’s episodes keep coming, and last week’s guest brought some real fashionable wisdom on footwear and accessory design. Catch Damion Le Cappelain, instructor of the School of Fashion, as he walks us through his interesting journey to fashion with a major in biology and background in the music industry.
Meanwhile, we’ve also listed some inspirational architectural structures around the world that epitomize modern design. They’re as impressive as they are luxurious, and they’re definitely worth seeing in person—once this pandemic is over, hopefully.
Apart from going around the world with these architecture, we also took a trip back in time to see how far the acting industry has come in film, all the way back to a century ago! Find out the key differences between Hollywood in the 1920s to today in 2020. Get to know some of the renowned classic actors and actresses of that era, side by side some of the top grossing actors and actresses today.
Academy of Art University‘s summer semester opens tomorrow. If you missed that, you can get started on your application for the fall semester as early as today. Request information from our admissions representatives to learn more about our online and virtual onsite programs.
