That’s a heck of a cash prize right there, isn’t it? Eye-catching, at the very least. Downright exciting and challenging, at best.

That’s because Sony is out on a hunt for big ideas—and it just might be very well yours. That’s right, this contest for the Sony Xperia Summer Film Fest is exclusively open to Academy of Art University students.

What do you need to do exactly? Simple: just showcase your creativity in a short film or documentary lasting no more than 5 minutes, using the NEW Xperia 1 smartphone.

You only have a few days left, but as they say, it ain’t over till it’s over. Check out the mechanics below and get right to work!

Mechanics

  1. Create a short film/documentary concept showcasing your creative interpretation for ONE of the following words: Kando, Joy, or Wonder.
  2. The top 25 selected finalists must shoot their film using a brand new Xperia 1 smartphone, to be provided on loan by Sony.
  3. All video entries must be submitted by August 2, 2019.
  4. Online voting starts on August 5, 2019, so get your friends ready to rally behind your work and cast those online votes!

All concept ideas must be submitted by July 15. Sony will then announce the top 25 contests on July 18. Then, the Sony Xperia Summer Film Fest is happening on August 14, where one lucky winner will receive the $10,000 prize so they may pursue their future creative efforts.

We can’t wait to see you bring your awesome ideas to life! So get writing and beat the deadline this Friday! Good luck!

Meanwhile, have a gander at the sweet gear you’ll be using for the contest:
