What better way to celebrate the peak of the season than with the upcoming ACT Spring Musical? Set to run this week, In the Heights will be performed at the Academy’s Sutter Theatre.
Join Academy of Art’s student cast from the School of Acting as they render their version of this Tony-nominated Broadway Hit, with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s music and lyrics.
Staging this musical could not have come at a better time, as a film adaptation is reportedly set for a release in Summer 2020.
Concrete Jungle Where Dreams are Made Of
In the Heights is set in New York City, in the mostly Hispanic-American neighborhood of Washington Heights. The storyline follows closely several characters as they go about their lives in a span of three days. Each of them has their own desires and dreams, but ultimately, they all just want to feel at home.
This spring production is directed by Clark Houston Lewis, and is free for students, faculty, and staff. All you have to do is show up and grab a seat, sit back, and enjoy the musical. See you there!
