Academy Weekly: Carrying On, Marching Along
Things may feel a tad irregular the past couple of weeks because of the growing concerns on the Coronavirus, but life online goes on. Here’s some of the cool updates we had last week on the blog.
While some things do fall farther out of our control than we’d prefer, we do our best to retain normalcy for those things that we still can. Like these cool new things on the site.
We Still Have Wins to Celebrate
We know, this month—this year—has been off to such a rocky start. But still we persevere and celebrate the little wins we get when we can.
Like the International Women’s History Month—which also signaled the launch of our brand new Women’s Day Video Series featuring some of our beloved female faculty that are also lauded as leaders in art and design. Or the finale of the Subaru x Industrial Design Video Series.
Or our first Featured Athlete on the blog, Ryan Gamboa. And the rest of the Art U Urban Knights that displayed spectacular performances in their games throughout the month of February.
We also kicked off Academy of Art University’s official podcast, Creative Mind, with Episode 1 featuring Illustration alumnus Krystal Lauk.
Our San Francisco Open Studio also pushed through, allowing wannabe Urban Knights to see what the sweet deal really is all about our urban campus.
What’s New in Art & Design
Meanwhile, we also continued to provide you with interesting information on various art and design niche industries, from entertainment arts to design to game development and general design.
Take a closer look at the award-winning women in game, animation, and new media. Get to know the important design principles any aspiring visual designer should know. Have a better understanding of what producers actually do in film, TV, and music.
Up This Week
We carry on this week, and so we’ve lined up some more cool things for you to look forward to. Such as our recognition of award-winning women composers, and a couple of big launches that should get you all pumped up for esports and a new design TV show.
There’s more to be had in between, so as always, keep it locked here!
