The holidays may be over, but it doesn’t have to mean that the fun does too. We’re holding down the fort here on the blog in that front, with this weekly roundup for your second week back in school.

In case you missed the Chinese New Year Parade last week, better luck next time. Until then, here are some cool pictures of the float created by your fellow Academy students in all its glory. It was also Valentine’s Day, and while we couldn’t send out flowers and chocolates to each and every one of you, rest assured that we do love our art school community, especially our dear reader.

And while the spring semester literally just started, we’re already gearing up for the Summer Study Abroad program. It’s going to be held in Florence, Italy in June this year, and it’s going to be an experience you wouldn’t want to miss. Check out the info session schedule here.

Meanwhile, as you’re beginning your journey as creative professionals, some of our alumni are already at it, and contributing to Oscar-winning productions in Hollywood! The students take their car design ideas up in Part 3 a notch as they present to the Subaru executives for the midterms. We’re only at the half-way mark of this real-world collaboration video series. Keep your eyes peeled for more in the following weeks.

This week, we took a look at popular video games adapted into films—box office hit not guaranteed, and examined trends in portfolios. We also checked out what the Razzies Awards (ceremony for the “Best of the Worst” in film) is all about. Fun stuff, really.

Last but not the least, we’re working on giving you a much better experience on the blog. Your opinion matters, so help us out by answering this quick survey!
